I’ve been feeling down lately about not having a huge goal that I’m striving for. I have habits in place that help me to learn and grow but I don’t have anything BIG that I’m striving for. It was making me feel like I was lacking purpose and also feeling a little lost. I stumbled upon this series of videos from MarieTV and thought I would watch a few to get myself out of the funk. I ended up watching almost all of them, and here’s what I took away from it:
You have a mind, but you are not your mind
Dreaming big could be crushing your soul
The #1 regret of the dying is wishing they had the courage to live the life they wanted to live, not the one others expected of them
We have to think and dream independently
Each of our dreams are valuable and perfect just the way they are
stop “small dream shame”
Stop thinking and start doing
Train yourself to bring passion to everything you do, passion is contagious
You can be passionate about more than one thing
Constantly challenge yourself, we need to learn and grow
Stop being ashamed of who you are, it is your life. Are you fulfilled?
There is no “there” (you are never done) – showing up fully exactly where you are is the fastest way to get where you want to go
Show up – do this moment like you mean it
Pain = restricting the moment, either resist the moment or engage with it
Its not your circumstances, its what you bring to them
Then of course, in the list of videos was a Daneille LaPorte video. I haven’t been “living” my CDFs very well so I was happy to watch this and get re-inspired. There are a couple of points that got me thinking about what I would like to do over the next couple of months.
Its not about the goal, its about how you want to feel when you get there
- What am I going to do today to feel this way?
- What do my goals need to look like to feel the way I want to feel?
Do not rely on outside forces to inform your reality
Be an intentional creator of your life – YOU choose how you feel about your life
Create your own game
What do I think confidence means?
This was a question on the video and it got me thinking. I want to be confident, but what exactly does that mean to me?
To me it means:
- Not letting external situations dictate how I’m feeling
- Not being too afraid to try new things and learn something new. Exercise my beginners mind
- Standing up straight, poise
- EASE in what I do
